Kort ná 'n besoek aan Israel, het ek 'n nagmaal diens in 'n groot missie huis in Holland bygewoon. Op die muur hang 'n krans van 'n tak van 'n kroon van dorings bos, wat groei in Israel gemaak. Die simboliek het op 'n nuwe krag. Die brood en wyn, met wat ons is so bekend, het op 'n nuwe sin van koste. Jesus woorde soos hy het dankie, gedeel uit die brood en die wyn en gesê hulle "Doen hierdie in gedagtenis van my", moes gewees het verwarrend om die dissipels soos hulle sit met hom. Begrip het later gekom. Vir ons ook begrip is 'n progressiewe ding.
