Die barmhartige Samaritaan

The Good Samaritan kneels beside a beaten traveler on the rocky wilderness road, reaching down to examine and aid the wounded man while his saddled donkey waits nearby with provisions. The barren hills and dusty path evoke the dangerous road from Jerusalem to Jericho, where Jesus set His parable of mercy. In Luke 10:25-37, a priest and a Levite pass by the injured man, but a Samaritan—an outsider in the eyes of many Jews—stops, binds his wounds, and carries him to safety. The image centers on the moment compassion becomes action: love of neighbor is not defined by social boundary, religious title, or convenience, but by costly mercy.
