The Sundial

Isaiah raises his hands toward the sundial as King Hezekiah watches from the palace above, receiving the Lord’s extraordinary sign of mercy. The visible dial recalls the biblical miracle in which the shadow moved backward as confirmation that God would heal Hezekiah and add years to his life. In the account, the reversing shadow is not a display of power for spectacle, but a covenant sign: the Lord rules time itself, hears prayer, and confirms His word through the prophet.
